If you can’t eat any more cheese, and in the search for something else to eat in Trujillo, there are some options for you.
For those looking to try some local dishes, then the Meson la Troya is a good place to start. The casual restaurant serves traditional Extremadurian meals such as caldereta de cordero (lamb pot) and also the migas extremeñas which is a meal based on breadcrumbs.
Another great option for tasting local Extremadurian dishes is the Bizcocho Plaza. The setting of the restaurant is beautiful with white decorated seats and chairs, with an elegant touch. The menu changes depending on the season and the chef, but the taste of the hood is very highly rated.
Aside from the restaurants mentioned above, you can also try other places out, some of which you can even discover by yourself during your visit in Trujillo.
Since Trujillo Spain is a small town, there is no airport or a train station. By public transport the only way to get there is by a bus or by taxi. The closest cities with international airports are: Madrid, Lisbon, Seville, and Badajoz.
Buses depart to Trujillo from the Estacion Sur de Autobuses (the southern bus station) with the Avanza bus company. The ride is around 3:30 hours and the cost varies from 10-20 Euros (depending on departure hour and traffic)
There’s also the option to Take a train to the station Navalmoral de la Mata, and change a to a bus to Trujillo, but this is a more expensive journey and you will arrive later.
The easiest way to Trujillo is by the same bus operator Avanza. The station from Lisbon is Lisbon Oriente to the Trujillo Bus Terminal. The journey is around 5:15 hours and the cost is between 20-27 Euros.
There are 2 options to arrive by bus. The first one is through a connection at Merida and the second option is through Caceres. From Seville to Merida the bus ride is around 2-3 hours and 5-12 Euros.
You can reach the city of Badajoz by national flights, but this option is more expensive and not faster in most cases. The easiest and fastest way is by bus during 2 hours and minutes costing regularly between 12-23 euros.
I saved the better for the last, and this is riding on a horseback while your in Trujillo. You will enjoy the experience of a smooth, comfortable ride.
